Pakistan Bulk Terminal Construction to Be Completed in Nov.: CEO

(Bloomberg) — Company to handle coal import for cement companies and power projects, CEO Sharique Azim Siddiqui says in interview in port city of Karachi yday. Pakistan coal imports to triple to 15m tons in 5 years as coal-run power projects start operations; current annual import primarily by cements companies. Company signs contract to handle 4m tons annual coal for state-run 1,320MW power plant in Sahiwal, which is expected to be completed next yr Port Qasim Authority, which manages Pakistan’s 2nd port near Karachi, invited bids to construct $150m, 4-5km conveyor belt to connect bulk terminal to railways. Shares +8.5% since stock added to MSCI FM Small Cap Index on May 12 NOTE: World Bank’s IFC 20% partner in company.
